SUPER SMASH BROS. 5 CONFIRMED (Read Description) by MarioMinecraftMix SUPER SMASH BROS. 5 CONFIRMED (Read Description) by MarioMinecraftMix
So, Nintendo just had a new Nintendo Direct and, as a "surprise ending", confirmed Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch. But here's the question....is it's a port/reboot of the 3DS/Wii U Version(s)? Or is it an entirely NEW Smash?

Well, here's my proof that SUPER SMASH BROS. FOR NINTENDO SWITCH is an entirely new Smash Bros.!

-------------------------
#1: The Logo
-------------------------
The new Smash logo looks somewhat similar to the 3DS/Wii U logo, doesn't it? However, there is one thing that sets them apart: The style. SSB4's logo has the flames bursting from the right side, as well as that horizon line behind it. The new Smash logo has none of that....and in it's place, it has the slash marks THROUGH the logo, similar to the iconic Smash Ball. :ssb:  And note that they BOTH have the same font as Brawl, albeit in a different STYLE, so they wouldn't mix it up again.

-------------------------
#2: Link
-------------------------
Link is one of the many all-star fighters in Smash, ever since the very first one on N64. But in later years, we've been getting new "Alt. Colors/Costumes" for characters; SSB4 allowing 8 unique colors. As we can see here in the new Smash Reveal, this isn't just ANY Link....That's BREATH OF THE WILD Link! If this was a port of the 3DS/Wii U versions, then they'd somehow have to replace an alternative costume that ALREADY exists, in order to keep the total of 8 colors. Not only that, but the model would need to be changed to correspond with the new "differences", like the lack of Link's Cap. That'd be too much for a simple port. The best way for them to pull this off is by having it in a NEW Smash!

-------------------------
#3: The Title
-------------------------
If you've missed the Direct, you're able to watch it on Nintendo's website. On that same page, they give a quick rundown of all the games/highlights mentioned. One of which specifying about the new Smash. And note that it explicitly says...

Nintendo Switch Super Smash Bros. (working title)

You heard it here, folks. A WORKING TITLE! If it was a port of the 3DS/Wii U Version, then they'd already have their title of either Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch. But NOPE! It's going to have a unique title, similar to Melee and Brawl.

-------------------------
Conclusion
-------------------------
So, we've got the new-styled logo, we've got the Wild Link appearance, and we've got a (working title). There's likely more proof that I may have missed....but this all proves that the new Smash game coming to Nintendo Switch....

...IS A BRAND-NEW SUPER SMASH BROS.!
